Entry #4: "WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY."

I am my son's school bus. I bring my son to school at 8AM. Knowing the flow of traffic and the number of cars on the road, we need to leave the house early.

After dropping my wife at her office, it was just me and my son, Rafael, in the car. It was just a few more minutes before his time. I was in a hurry to bring him to school. I was in a panic.

Then, Rafa caught my attention and told me

"Look Dad! What a beautiful day!"

And just like in the movies, what I was looking at turned slow motion. I saw leaves falling from the trees. I saw streaks of sunlight piercing through the clouds and hitting the ground. I saw the branches slowly moving to and fro. It was a beautiful day.

This taught me something important: Take time to appreciate the simple things. God blesses us with a beautiful day and the busy people like me were so focused on overtaking cars, traffic and getting to the office. But it took a child to teach his father to appreciate God's gift.

Yes. It is a beautiful day.
